When I Thought It Was Just Another Stickman Fighting Game… Then I Couldn't Stop Playing
The first time I opened Matchman Battle, I honestly thought it would just be one of those casual stickman fighting games you play for a few minutes and forget about later.
Five minutes in, I was already trying to master blocking timing, movement tricks, and combo setups like my life depended on it.
The controls are super easy to learn, but once the fights get intense, every match starts feeling like a mind game. And nothing feels better than surviving with one pixel of HP and somehow turning the fight around.
I Started by Button Mashing… Then Became Weirdly Competitive
When I first started playing this game, I thought it was just a matter of randomly spamming attacks—charging at my opponent and frantically hammering the attack button. I figured that as long as I landed my moves fast enough, I'd easily defeat them.
But after a few matches, I realized that winning with that approach wasn't so easy. They'd control the distance, bait my skills, and then counterattack.
After a few failed attempts, I started studying the timing of different weapons and the overall strategy, moving away from mindless spamming. Gradually, I realized that melee and ranged combat are two completely different styles of play. Going all-out in close combat is definitely satisfying when it works, but playing that way for too long gets tedious. Plus, as soon as my opponent pulls back, I'm helpless and end up at a disadvantage.
But after studying the strategies—figuring out when to engage in close combat, when to create distance, and when to use skills—the game became much more engaging. Especially in Matchman Battle, landing a smooth combo followed by a finishing move really gives you that "hero's entrance" feeling.
Blocking and Healing Are the Real Game Changers
In most games, blocking just means "take less damage."
Not here.
One match completely changed how I played. I was almost dead, my opponent had full energy, and I thought the round was over. Then I timed a perfect block, healed at the last second, and somehow turned the entire fight around.
That’s when I realized the most exciting moments happen when you're one mistake away from losing. The comeback potential makes every fight feel intense.

Melee and Ranged Combat Feel Like Two Different Games
I originally preferred melee weapons because rushing in for combos feels incredibly satisfying.
But once I tried bows and guns, I finally understood the joy of playing annoying long-range builds. Running around while slowly wearing down opponents is strangely fun. Using walls and terrain to dodge attacks makes you feel way smarter than you probably are.
That said, melee combat still hits differently. Catching someone with a jump attack into an ultimate combo feels brutal in the best possible way.
Solo Mode Accidentally Became My High-Score Obsession
I thought Solo Mode would just be a basic survival challenge.
Instead, it turned into a "one more run" simulator.
Every time I lost, I immediately wanted to try again just to beat my combo streak. The enemy waves get faster, more aggressive, and increasingly chaotic. Eventually, there’s barely enough time to think — you just react instinctively.
And honestly? That’s exactly what makes it fun.
Versus Mode Is Dangerous for Friendships
If you have a friend to play with, Versus Mode is absolutely worth trying.
At first, everything stays casual and friendly. Then suddenly both of you are sitting forward in your chairs like it’s an esports tournament.
The funniest part is how quickly mind games appear. Fake attacks, baited blocks, saving ultimates for the perfect moment — it becomes way more competitive than expected.
That's probably my favorite thing about Matchman Battle. It looks simple, but once two players understand the mechanics, matches become incredibly intense.

Exploration Mode Feels More Stressful Than I Expected
I thought Exploration Mode would be a breeze, but the reality turned out to be completely different from what I expected.
Enemies kept coming in wave after wave, and they clearly got stronger as the game progressed. At first, I could maneuver around them with ease, but later on, I was just frantically dodging attacks and struggling to survive.
This mode really tests your ability to time your moves. Knowing when to heal, when to save energy, and when to use your ultimate can completely change your score. One bad decision can end an otherwise perfect run instantly.
Why I Keep Clicking "One More Match"
A lot of mini games are fun for ten minutes and then forgotten.
This one keeps pulling me back.
Every time I lose, I immediately think, "Okay, but if I had blocked earlier there, I definitely would've won." Then somehow I'm already starting another round.
That's the magic of Matchman Battle. The controls stay simple, but every fight feels unpredictable. You always feel like your next match could be your best one yet.
And suddenly it's been an hour.
Conclusion
If you enjoy fast-paced action games, clutch comebacks, or just want a fun game you can jump into anytime, this one is definitely worth trying.
Whether you're chasing combo streaks in Solo Mode, sweating through Versus battles, or surviving endless waves in Exploration Mode, every mode offers a different kind of chaos.
Just don't expect to stop after one match.
